Mr Alastair Davidson has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip & Knee surgery for twenty years. 

His NHS Consultant post is at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey & Berkshire, which includes Frimley Park, Heatherwood Ascot & Wexham Park Hospitals. 

He trained under many world renowned Professors & Orthopaedic Surgeons. He spent most of his postgraduate training at London Teaching Hospitals, and a Specialist Fellowship year in Sydney, as well as a final Specialist Training year at the Hip and Knee unit at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. 

After finishing his training in 2005 he was a Locum Consultant at the RNOH Stanmore, and subsequently Imperial College Hospitals London, before his appointment to Frimley Health where he now leads the knee fellowship training program.

He specialises exclusively in Hip and Knee surgery. He is experienced in robotic hip and knee joint replacement as well as experienced using customised knee replacement including the Conformis knee replacement. He has a particular interest in cartilage repair and resurfacing and participated in the national MRC ACTIVE trial on Cartilage resurfacing. 

He has published and presented nationally and internationally. He has taught on RNOH Stanmore courses and to Imperial College medical students, as well as acting as an examiner. He has also had the privilege of being a British Orthopaedic Association travelling Fellow & currently the BOA Clinical Champion for Frimley Health. Mr Davidson is a member of the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Orthopaedic Association and the International Society of Technology in Arthroplasty. 

Alastair enjoys his sports such as ski-ing, rugby, golf, tennis, fencing, sailing, and travel.
