As a BSc of Physiotherapy with honors graduate from the University of Sharjah in the UAE, Ahlam started her career at a trauma and orthopedics specialized government hospital, where it focused on Musculoskeletal and road traffic accidents cases, which build a particular interest in her with Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic trauma related cases. Ahlam has also worked with Sport Clinics specialized in Musculoskeletal injuries, pain management, and movement dysfunction. She has worked with the Dubai Rugby Sevens event for two seasons, treating and managing the recoveries of elite athletes.
Being a professional Table Tennis athlete herself, returning patients to their desired activity level as soon and as safe as possible has always been the goal of her rehabilitation programs. Her rehabilitation techniques are evidence-based and follow a patient centered approach that is tailored to each individuals needs.
Ahlam’s curiosity in excelling rehabilitation has pushed her to obtain her MSc of Physical Therapy in Musculoskeletal Healthcare and Rehabilitation with Distinction from UCL in the UK. She is currently a PhD candidate investigating tendon related injuries at the Institute of Sports, Exercise, and Health in UCL. She is registered to practice physiotherapy with the HCPC and CSP.
1. Where is the best place you ever travelled to?
2. What made you become a Physiotherapist?
Answer: I suffered a shoulder injury and was treated by astonishing physiotherapists in the club I played in back home and that made me want to give others the same feeling.
3. What is your favourite food?
Answer: A Persian dish called “Ghormeh Sabzi”.
